On March 27, 2025, APOTHEKE announced a recall of approximately 640 Pumpkin Ginger 3-Wick Scented Candles, sold exclusively through Crate & Barrel. The recall stems from reports that the candle’s flame can burn too high, which may cause the glass container to break and ignite, posing significant fire, burn, and laceration hazards

Manufacturer and Retailer Responsibility 

These candles were manufactured in the United States and distributed by APOTHEKE, of Brooklyn, New York. They were sold exclusively through: 

  • Crate & Barrel stores nationwide 
  • Crateandbarrel.com 

The candles were available between June 2024 and January 2025 for about $80
